How we keep this catalogue current

What gets re-read, how often, and what happens to a piece that sells out.

Prices

Every price on this site comes out of our own product data and is rewritten when it moves. The catalogue was last updated on September 9, 2026, and at that update it held 284 styles in stock across 1,134 colour, length and size combinations. Where a figure here and the figure at the till disagree, the till is the one that counts.

A piece we cannot currently buy does not appear at all. It is not hidden behind a “currently unavailable” label: it comes off the site at the next build and comes back by itself when it returns to stock, because the catalogue behind these pages keeps asking about it either way.

Length, pockets, colourways and sizes

These come from the same product data and are rebuilt from it on every pass, so nobody types a pocket count into a paragraph by hand. The size run on a card is the run the piece is cut in at our last update; a size missing from the run is missing from the piece, not from the page. Where a piece gives no length or no fibre content, the line is left blank rather than guessed, and where it gives one, the label sewn into the garment is still the document that governs washing.

Pictures

Every photograph on this site shows the colourway being sold, on a body where the brand photographed it that way. A frame with a size chart or a sales slogan printed into it is left out, and that is the reason a card shows one photograph rather than a strip, and a picture that argues with what is written beside it is pulled instead of captioned around.

Claims about sun, labels and safety

Anything on this site that touches sun protection, fibre labelling, care instructions or the flammability standard clothing is sold under is written under a published source rather than over one. A UPF figure is printed as the label gives it and described as a property of dry, unstretched cloth. The register below is the whole of it, and every entry was opened and read on September 9, 2026 before a link was put on it.

Corrections

If a length, a pocket count or a size run on this site argues with the piece in your hands, write to basecamp@pioneer-camp.net with the page and the figure. It gets fixed at the next update, and we say what changed. The rest of what Pioneer Camp will and will not print about itself is set out in the editorial standards.

Where this comes from

What a UPF figure means: a UPF 50 fabric lets one fiftieth of UV through, 50 is the floor for the Foundation's seal, dark and densely woven cloth protects more than pale and sheer, and cloth that is stretched or wet loses part of its rating. What to wear to protect your skin from the sun · American Academy of Dermatology. Cover as much skin as you can, avoid a loose or open weave, prefer dark colours, remember that dry cloth protects more than wet, and look for a UPF number on the label; a white T-shirt gives about SPF 7 against a denim shirt at about 1,700. Threading Your Way Through the Labeling Requirements Under the Textile and Wool Acts · US Federal Trade Commission. What a garment label must state: fibre content by generic name and percentage by weight in descending order, the country of processing or manufacture, and the maker or marketer by name or RN. A fibre under five percent is "other fiber" unless it has definite functional significance, and spandex for stretch is the guide's own example of one that has. Read September 9, 2026.

The Care Labeling Rule: washing method, bleach, drying, ironing where it is needed regularly, and warnings, each backed by reliable evidence the maker holds, on a label attached permanently and securely and legible for the useful life of the piece. Wind Chill Chart · US National Weather Service. Wind chill is how cold exposed skin feels, computed from the rate of heat loss the wind causes: as wind rises it draws heat off the body and drives skin temperature down. At 0 degrees Fahrenheit with a 15 mph wind the chart gives -19, and exposed skin can freeze in thirty minutes. Read September 9, 2026.
